first things first, if you watch the show and keep up with the plot, you should know that the girls that play the Liars are older than me! and i'm 22. the only one that is actually the age that the character is at is Allison (Sasha). Sasha is actually the youngest one on the show.
Having that said, let's look at the other ages of the girls.
Lucy (Aria) 25 years old
Troian (Spencer): 28 years old
Ashley (Hanna): 24 years old
Tammin (Jenna): 30 years old
Lindsey (Paige): 25 years old
Shay (Emily): 27 years old
Janel (Mona): 25 years old
Okay, look at those ages. Study them. There's gonna be a quiz later.
I'm just kidding. No quiz.
But, seriously. Here are some reasons why young girls or myself at 22 shouldn't try and be like these girls (the actors).
1. THEY ARE A LOT OLDER.
They are playing 17 & 18 year old girls when they are 10+ years older than their characters. No one is going to look that beautiful at 17 and 18 years old. to prove it to you, here is a picture of me when i was in high school. this is the only time it will happen, so take this in stride.

I look 17, because that was my actual age in the picture. So when you watch Pretty Little Liars, or any other show that is based on teenage girls, DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO THEM. They have grown up in front of cameras, they have someone on hand to fix their hair, their makeup, and they give them outfits to where.
don't get me started on the outfits.
2. IT IS JUST A TV SHOW
Having that said, this is not happening in real life. "A" is not trolling around your hometown stalking you, sending you creepy texts about who knows what. and if someone is, go to the PO PO, seriously. that's not cool.
the stuff that happens on Pretty Little Liars doesn't happen in real life, well, i hope so.
3. THEY ARE ACTING.
They aren't real teenagers, going to high school. worrying about college. because most of them are post-college.
I'm not saying, DONT WATCH THE SHOW! I'm just saying don't compare yourself with the way they look.
The outfits they wear isn't something that I would have worn to school. my parents would have killed me if i walked out of the house in any of the get up that they wear. but the parents aren't around much on the show, so there you go.
I absolutely love the show and the girls that are on the show, but i don't like the message the shows gives to little girls, that young high school girls should try and be like them, when that is IMPOSSIBLE. they are a lot older than high school age, and a lot maturer than high school. and this is Hollywood we are talking about here, where nothing is out of place, they look perfect all the time, and the outfits look awesome. i'm pretty sure the outfit designer never even went to high school, because no one has the money for designer clothes. and if you do, not fair. and have fun spending millions on CLOTHES. something that you will never wear more than a couple times. and if you have also noticed, the girls never usually wear something more than once. what teenage girl owns that much of a closet. oh, yeah. that's right, its a TV show!!
